Junior Volunteer Program

Forest Park's junior voluntary program was first started in order to provide a training ground for future adult permanent staff and provide an opportunity for young riders to spend time with horses and learn more about their care. It also provides a career path for keen riders. This volunteer program gives passionate young people the opportunity to develop their riding and handling skills, learn more about the equestrian industry and make lifelong friends with other young people with similar interests.

Riders over the age of 12 years who have reached an advanced level and who are assessed as suitable can join our junior volunteers program. Junior volunteers help our instructors and senior trail ride staff with the horses either on Saturday or Sunday and in return are able to spend time with horses and have at least one ride during the day. We train the junior volunteers in all aspects of horsemanship including safety, saddling, feeding, grooming, stable cleaning, taking rides and looking after clients.

Interested juniors must be confident around horses and be able to work independently. We try our best to get back to you as soon as possible when you submit your applications, however due to large interest please be patient for a response. If you are interested in becoming a junior, fill out the below 'expression of interest form' & hand it into to the office on your next visit.
