Forest Park Riding and Equitation School has been run by Grant and Heather Hughes for many years and they have promoted a nurturing family environment for all their clients. The overriding goal at Forest Park is to share their love of horses and horse riding with everyone wishing to be involved in equine pursuits no matter how young or old.

Trail rides are fun, teach you new skills and allow you to bond with our beautiful horses. Available for riders from beginner to advanced aged 7 years and over. Come alone or bring a group of friends - it is completely up to you!
Enjoy some of Canberra's most beautiful views around the Stromlo Forest or our property on horse back! Most of our trail riders have been excited to view many native Australian and introduced animals including kangaroos, echidnas, rabbits, birds, wallabies, lizards, horses and many more.
We are currently working with government authorities in order to establish what we can and can't do in this current situation with COVID-19. The situation is rapidly changing and we will keep you updated of any changes we need to make. The best place to keep updated is via our Facebook page.
Our agistment will continue as previously, however people need to be mindful of the rules governing social distancing, keeping 1.5m apart etc. If you are required to isolate or unwell please stay home and follow the Government and Health directions. Please avoid gathering with others on our property. We ask that you perform hand hygiene regularly, soap is located in the bathroom. Feed order closing times have now changed due to reduced office hours - please see email and signage for new times.
Our group lessons are now on hold. We have been advised not to run any further group lessons until further notice. This will also effect our school holiday program, term lessons and our trail rides which will not run until further notice.
We plan to run private lessons daily, Monday- Sunday between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm. These will commence as half hour lessons but we hope to perhaps run some shared (2 to a lesson) one hour private lessons down the track. Private lessons can be booked by calling our office on 62874888 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please again follow the social distancing rules, perform hand hygiene, cancel if you are unwell and follow cough etiquette. We recommend that you use your own helmets and riding boots. We also request that no more than 2 people come into our office at one time.
We have new procedues in place to help reduce the virus spread risk, including more frequent cleaning, wiping down of equipment and spreading out bookings to reduce person-to-person contact.
We will be calculating the credits that each client has from fees paid and these can be used for private lessons or activities in the future when they start up again.We apologise for the disappointment that this will undoubtedly bring to many. We may be running on reduced office hours.
