Juniors
Riders over the age of 12 years who have reached an advanced level and who are assessed as suitable can join our junior volunteers program. Junior volunteers help our instructors and senior trail ride staff with the horses either on Saturday or Sunday and in return get free riding during the day. As volunteers improve in their abilities they may be promoted to permanent junior level where they will receive payment. We train the junior volunteers in all aspects of horsemanship including safety, saddling, feeding, grooming, stable cleaning, taking rides and looking after clients. Interested juniors must be confident around horses and be able to work independently. Please speak to Simone Thompson (in the office) if you are interested in becoming a junior, or fill out the below 'expression of interest form' & hand it into to the office on your next visit. |
Forest Park's junior voluntary staff program was first started in order to provide a training ground for future adult permanent staff. It also provides a career path for keen riders.
